Asthma is the question that changes the room, not the tan

DHA is applied as an aerosol, and a client with asthma or another respiratory condition needs the extraction running, a nose filter offered, and — usually — a conversation about whether a mitt application suits them better.

It is the one screening answer that changes how the appointment is set up rather than whether it happens, which is exactly why it should arrive before the client does.

Prep is the reason most tans go wrong, and it happens before you see them

Exfoliation, and skipping moisturiser, deodorant, makeup and oil, all have to happen at home in the hours before the appointment. A prep instruction handed over at the door is an instruction that arrives too late to follow.

Sending the consent form when the appointment is booked puts the prep list in front of the client at the only moment it is useful, and comes back with a tick confirming they read it.

Three expectations worth naming

That the colour develops over hours rather than appearing finished. That the guide colour transfers to sheets and clothing until it is rinsed. And that a spray tan is not sun protection.

The third is the one that matters most and is most often assumed the other way. It costs one line and it is the line an insurer would look for.

Record the shade and the occasion

A wedding on Saturday and a general top-up are different appointments: the first wants a trial and a specific timing, the second does not. Asking gives the technician the information to schedule properly and gives the next appointment a reference for what shade worked.
